Introducing the 2022 Ford®? Super Duty®? F-250 XLT Truck

The Ford F-250 Super Duty is one of those trucks that will work as hard as you do. In fact, it offers such hard work that it represents an excellent return on your investment.  Naturally there are differences between the 2022 model and the 2021 Ford F-250 Crew Cab, but the essence of the truck remains the same.  The F250 is a technologically advanced piece of machinery with a long list of towing tech aids that are exclusive to Ford.

While businesses love the affordability and value of the XL model, the 2022 Ford®? Super Duty®? Truck comes in a wide variety of trims, ready to handle the needs of many different types of consumers. The XLT edition offers a step above in terms of quality and technology.

The XLT driver appreciates the carpeting, a soft armrest, cupholders, and a larger productivity screen.  Business fleet managers appreciate that the XLT edition not only has the basic Ford CoPilot360 features, but it also has a blind spot monitor, a rear cross traffic monitor, power heated-towing mirrors, and power-heated side mirrors.  Towing is easier with trailer sway control and hill start assist.

If you are looking for style, the Ford F-250 King Ranch is a favorite.  The design is upscale with Kingsville antique-effect leather and other high quality materials. Like a luxury ride, every convenience and technology is aboard. For those on long trips, the power-adjustable leather chairs offer extra comfort. Ventilated front seats and automatic climate controls keep you cooler when Phoenix weather heats up.

For off-roading, the Tremor trim has 35-inch wheels and all the trail-riding equipment you could need. This one is giving the F-150 Raptor some serious competition.  It turns these hard-workers into adventure rides.

What Makes a 2022 Ford®? Super Duty®? Truck?

Every 2022 Ford®? Super Duty®? Truck offers a choice of a muscled V8 gasoline engine or the remarkable V8 diesel.  To ensure capability, the F-250 has an advanced body structure that is extra resilient despite the weight of heavy loads and big tows.

These trucks go through some of the most extensive and thorough testing in the industry.  They are pitted against extreme driving conditions of all kinds. They must endure desert heat, sub-zero cold, and difficult terrain.  Ford simulates real life with heavy payloads and big tows while dealing with high mileage, tough roads, and weather complications. Nothing goes unnoticed as engineers look at the performance of every system and every component.

What Is The Best Fuel Grade For A Ford F250?

The Ford F250 does not need premium fuel. The standard 385-horsepower unit uses 87 octane fuel.  The best-in-class 7.3-liter V8 cranks that up to 430 horsepower.  It raises the V8 torque rate from the standard 430 lb-ft to a best-in-class 475 pound feet. This engine also only requires 87 octane fuel.  These trucks have a 34-gallon tank except for the In both cases, the ability to use the lowest octane fuel means savings at the fuel pump.

Last, but not least is the Power Stroke V8.  This unique turbo engine requires diesel as the name implies. Specifically, it uses ultra-low sulfur diesel/B20.  This engine delivers 475 horsepower and 1050 pound-feet of torque. Both of these figures are best in the diesel class. To help it harness all of that load-moving force, it has an exclusive 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission.  This reduces the truck’s fuel use while maximizing its capability. Diesel trucks have a 29, 34, or 40 gallon tank.

Is An F250 A Good Truck For A 16 Year Old?

Good question!  If you think a 16-year-old should have a vehicle that has all of the safety features to protect them, then the F250 is a good pick.  It can run for years, and it withstands punishment that some light duty trucks couldn’t take.  A new driver may make mistakes such as driving on the wrong terrain, but this vehicle is likely to take it in stride.

The Ford MyKey lets a parent set the maximum music volume, to limit the truck’s top speed capability, and to ensure that the teenager doesn’t drive without a seatbelt.  Many F250s, especially the most recent models, have driver assistance aids. This includes such valuable devices as forward collision warnings and related automatic braking. It also includes a  lane keeper and blind spot monitor.  You’ll need to talk to your Earnhardt truck expert to find out which trucks today have these features.

On modern F250s, the dash technology includes Bluetooth and other hands-free capability, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.   Voice commands can choose an app, change a song or find a radio station.  Hands-free phoning actually includes the ability to use voice commands to text a friend.  You can be sure that your 16-year-old has the tools they need to drive safely despite the temptations of smartphones.
