The Ford Explorer just keeps getting better. This is the way that every family would travel if they could. There’s room for seven, ample cargo capacity, and lots of tech toys and safety devices. For 2021, there are new features, new interior color options, and more technology.
Interior Trim Levels
Passenger volume is an incredible 152.7 cubic feet. This leaves 39 inches for kneeroom on the second row. It allows for 54.6 inches of shoulder room on the third row. You can choose the base edition and enjoy a long list of must-have features. That list gets longer as you choose from 2021 Ford Explorer Trim Levels. There's more value with the XLT, more fun with the Sport, and more amenities with the Limited. Leather seats are just the beginning of the upscale features available. If you choose the Ford Explorer Platinum trim level, Active Motion seats offer a massage.
Technology
The 6.5-inch color instrument screen and entertainment touch screen are designed to complement each other, giving you the information and entertainment options you want. You can also upgrade to the 10.1-inch portrait entertainment screen and the full 12.3-inch digital instrument screen. Likewise, the rear view camera upgrades to a 360-degree split-view camera on Limited and higher models. Teens will be happy that more models have second-row smart-charging dual USB ports. An available seven-mode all terrain system can make the best of this SUV's minimum ground clearance of 8.2 inches.

Every Explorer has a power-operated liftgate. Made to keep you organized, the Explorer has a new cargo system with a removable floor and special compartments. Ford’s exclusive trailer blind spot system can make towing so much easier. This rig can tow 5,600 pounds when properly equipped. Safety
Ford thinks about safety from every angle. That’s why side-wind stabilization is now a standard feature. Now, in addition to post-collision automatic braking, every model has a lane keeper, a blind spot monitor, pedestrian watch, and forward-collision dynamic brake support. Parents can feel more confident even when every seat is full. Drivers will also appreciate details such as speed-sensitive wipers, adaptive headlights, heated side mirrors and approach lights that add a friendly glow to the perimeter.
