This Ford Hybrid Truck is ready to change your relationship with the gas station. If you thought you couldn’t afford a hybrid, think again. In fact, if you thought you couldn’t afford a new pickup truck, think again!! The 2022 Ford Maverick Chandler is quite a remarkable new ride. You can choose from three trims and many colors. There’s also a regular Ecoboost engine if you want to step up to that. Overall, this is one of the trimmest trucks ever made, and yet it has a two-row interior that lets you stretch out. Here’s what you need to know.
Performance
Under the hood of the entry-level Maverick is a true hybrid engine. This isn’t just a booster. This is the powertrain that moves the truck. It generates 191 horsepower to spur the Maverick in traffic. This is plenty of power to keep it moving even when carrying a large payload. Ford harnesses this to a PowerSplit transmission. If you prefer the Maverick Ecoboost, you’ll command 250 horsepower. Either way, you can be sure that this truck is Ford tough. Part of its initiation were trials in 120-degree Arizona desert heat. It was like the 2022 Ford Maverick was made for the Chandler driver!
Capability
How much do you need to move? The bed can handle some 1,500 pounds. The 2022 Ford Maverick tailgate utilizes retention cords to hold it in two positions for hauling. The truck itself can tow some 2,000 pounds. For many of us, that will be all we need for work, for home chores, and for adventures. Speaking of adventures, your Maverick can handle desert sand with the FX4 package. This includes an all-terrain system. With the Ecoboost engine, you can tow up to 4,000 pounds.
Interior Trim Levels
As we said, this is a two-row truck, and it can seat up to five of your family or friends. It has carseat attachments, too. There are XL, XLT and Lariat trims, taking you from a good deal to the best value to the most sophisticated Maverick on the road. You can choose a cool Navy Pier and Slate combination for your seats or go for the Lariat’s Desert Brown ActiveX upholstery. This truck is all about efficiency of space so you can bet it has some of Ford’s organizational extras including under-seat storage on the back row.
Technology
So affordable, the Ford hybrid truck could skimp a bit on technology but it does not. Your dash screen provides you with connectivity features and a good view of your back-up camera images. With FordPass Connect, you can turn the 2022 Ford Maverick into a WiFi hotspot on the road or off the beaten path. For plugging in, you’ll have a 400-watt 110V outlet in the bed as well as the cabin. An 8-inch touchscreen brings Sync3 and more entertainment possibilities. It all sounds good, especially on the eight-speaker available premium audio system. The FordPass App adds more tech toys. Safety
The Maverick has Ford’s automatic braking system that watches for dangers ahead. It also offers blind spot monitoring for safer highway lane changes and lane departure monitoring to keep the truck on the safest path. When you step up to the Lariat, you can also get more driver assistance in the form of automatic lane centering and adaptive cruise. This is one truck that really wants to work with its driver to stay out of harm’s way.
