The biggest news for the 2025 model year is BlueCruise 1.2. This is not just because it has developed into an even more autonomous driving tool. It’s also because it is standard on more Ford F150 trim levels.

This hands-free driving software allows the truck driver to assume the role of safety monitor. The truck drives itself at a preset speed, staying within the marked lanes. New and improved, it now has a hands-free lane change ability. The driver just taps the turn signal and the truck can do the rest.  

Like the 2024 Ford F150, the 2025 model year will maintain brand leadership in many areas. First, it has 24 inches of dash screens. Second, it has the best basic engine choice. Third, it offers top towing and payload numbers on many configurations. Fourth, it offers three cab and bed choices whereas many truckmakers limit it to two. 

Engine options for the 2025 Ford F150 are more dynamic and stronger than you’ll find on direct competitors. How is that possible? 

Well, the basic engine choice is now a turbo six. This unit kicks out 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. If you compare prices, it’s like getting someone else’s V8 while paying for a V6. That’s a remarkable bargain.

Another great bargain is the unique hybrid F150. As the original full-size hybrid, it is now offered on more F150s. Together with the Maverick Hybrid, it controls about 70 percent of the hybrid truck market. These hybrid Ford trucks produce top V8 power without impacting fuel economy.

Combined output of the hybrid motor and engine is 394 horsepower and 492 lb-ft of torque. The driving range is an EPA estimated 704 miles.

If you are looking for maximum tow ratings, you’ll want to take a look at the SuperCrew with a 6.5-foot bed. With the 3.5-L V6 and four-wheel drivetrain, this F150 tow rating is 13,500 pounds.

If you need the top payload capacity, the 8-foot bed is a no-brainer. Not only is it larger, but it can be equipped to handle 2,445 pounds. This payload rating is possible with the Regular Cab, rear-wheel drivetrain, and 3.5-liter V6. 

Providing a range of pricetags for terrific off-road capability, the 2025 F-150 offers up its standard four-wheel drivetrain as the first level of capability. You can go for the champion Tremor package while still keeping costs down.
