A Bigger Base Engine: The 7.3L Godzilla V8 Is Now Standard
The biggest mechanical news for 2027: Ford dropped the 6.8L V8 and made the 7.3L Godzilla V8 the standard engine across the Super Duty lineup. That means every base-level Super Duty truck now comes with an engine that produces 430 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque.
For Phoenix contractors and Chandler tradespeople who haul heavy loads day in and day out, that is a meaningful upgrade right at the entry level.
Ford is upgrading its diesel offerings, too. The high-output 6.7L Power Stroke produces best-in-class horsepower and torque. If you need maximum towing capacity, the Super Duty's diesel engine remains the king of the segment. Super Duty drivers will have 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque at their fingerprints.
Tremor Package Expands to More Trims
The Tremor Off-Road Package has always been one of the most capable factory off-road setups on any heavy-duty pickup truck. For 2027, Ford made it available across more of the lineup than ever before. The Tremor package can now be paired with the XL trim when combined with the STX Appearance Package and the XL Driver Assist Package.
That makes Tremor more accessible than it has ever been, giving work truck buyers a factory-built off-road machine without requiring an upgrade to a higher trim level. You can also spring for the Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims while getting Tremor capability.
Do you need the Crew Cab long-bed configuration? You are in luck. For 2027, you can upgrade to the Tremor package even if you choose the 176-inch wheelbase with an 8-foot bed. This configuration rolls on 35-inch tires and gains even more height with a factory lift. Equipment includes an electronic locking rear differential, major skid plates and an available 48-gallon fuel tank. In addition to Ford’s driver assistance, these Super Duty trucks have off-road assistance, complements of Trail Control and Rock Crawl Mode.
New XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package
Not every buyer needs the full Tremor treatment. Ford heard that, too. The new XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package is designed for XL buyers who want serious ground clearance and trail-ready capability without stepping into a dedicated off-road trim.
This package is available on the XL Crew Cab, 4WD, short-bed, single-rear-wheel configuration. It pairs a factory lift with 35-inch tires and off-road hardware, giving work-first buyers a more capable truck straight from the factory. It is a smart, value-conscious choice for ranchers, utility workers, and tradespeople who spend time on unpaved roads
The Ultimate Carhartt Package
Two Michigan icons. One purpose-built work truck package. It is available on the XLT Crew Cab single-rear-wheel 4x4 configuration. On the outside, the Carhartt Package features a unique dark-painted grille, body-color bumpers, off-road running boards, and textured Carhartt graphics on the fender vents, doors, and tailgate.
Those graphics do more than look sharp: Ford says they help protect lower body panels from mud, salt, road debris, and jobsite wear The package also adds unique 20-inch machined-and-painted wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires Inside, the cabin is built for people who actually work for a living. Seating surfaces are inspired by Carhartt's iconic Duck Canvas material with triple-stitch construction The exterior gains a spray-in Tough Bed bedliner stamped with the Carhartt logo and numerous light upgrades. This includes a special LED Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp that can flood the bed for after-dark work. Motor1 noted that the Carhartt package is "a nice visual upgrade for the Super Duty that doesn't detract from its utility.”
How does this affect Ford Super Duty prices? Well, the Carhartt Package is priced at $4,195 and can be paired with the Premium Package and FX4 Off-Road Package.
Platinum Trim Comes to Chassis Cab Models
Heavy commercial buyers now have access to the Super Duty's top-of-the-line Platinum trim. For 2027, Ford extended Platinum availability to F-350, F-450, and F-550 Chassis Cab models That means upfitters, fleet buyers, and commercial operators can now get the most refined interior in the Super Duty lineup alongside the heavy-duty chassis capability they need. Platinum features include premium leather interior and the Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system.
New Colors, LED Lighting, and More
Two new exterior colors join the 2027 Super Duty lineup: Neptune Blue and Iconic Silver Metallic. Neptune Blue is a deep blue with a bright metallic flake, new for the 2027 model year. On the lighting front, LED lamps are now available on all trims, and are standard equipment on Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims. The Carhartt Package adds its own comprehensive LED upgrade package as well.
