Ford Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler Comparison
Ford Broncos vs Jeep Wranglers: How to Narrow Down Your Choices
What are your requirements for a new SUV? Let’s take a look at how the 2024 Ford Bronco and 2024 Jeep Wrangler angle for a spot in your driveway and on the trail.
-
Utility
Few SUVs are just 2-door models these days. That makes it even more important to know the difference between the smaller Wrangler and smaller Bronco. Is one actually better?
Well, if you expect to bring along any cargo, you will favor the Bronco 2-door immediately. The Wrangler has only 12.9 cubes in the hold whereas the Bronco has 22.4 cubic feet. And when the seats are down, the Bronco 2-door cargo hold is enormous compared to the Wrangler 2-door.

4-Door Size
If you expect your SUV to excel at utility, the Ford Bronco has an unmistakable edge. This is true whether it’s the 2 door or 4 door model.
Jeep Wrangler 2-door models still have only 12.9 cubic feet in their cargo holds. That turns into just 31 cubic feet with the second row down. You can compare that to 22.4 cubic feet in the Bronco hold which expands to 53 cubes with the seats down.
Wrangler 4-door models have 31 cubic feet in the cargo hold. Wrangler 4xe models lose space due to their battery pack and have 27.7-cube cargo holds. The area with the second-row down amounts to 67.4 cubes or 72.4 cubes.
You can compare that to the Bronco cargo hold. It either has 35.6 cubes or 38.3 cubes in the hold. That’s four to seven more cubic feet of space for your tents, coolers, and luggage. The seats fold to allow for 77.5 or 83 cubes of space. Check out the Ford Bronco inventory.

Convertible Driving
The Bronco soft top has several ways to drop its top. It can be opened half-way. This can be coupled with removing the rear panel. It can be fully open, but still on the vehicle. Or, it can be removed completely.
The Bronco hard top is almost as flexible, offering four of those five configurations.
Wranglers have three different roofs with varied capability. However, neither the hardtop nor the two soft tops can match the Bronco roof flexibility.

Off Road Tools
US News and World Report praises the Bronco for what it calls world-class off-road technique. With the ten-speed automatic transmission, Ford offers its slow-speed cruise system known as Trail Control. Certain models offer Trail One-Pedal Drive.
These systems challenge anything the Jeep Wrangler has. Even better, Ford offers its exclusive Trail Turn Assist. This system works in real time to sharpen the Bronco’s reflexes as it maneuvers a tight trail. Find out more about what’s special in this new Ford Bronco review.

On Road Drivability
You can check any review site from Car and Driver to Edmunds. You’ll find that the Ford Bronco is a better ride on the road than the Wrangler. US News and World Report praises the 2024 Bronco for being smooth on pavement. They note its composed ride and agile steering. Essentially, this off-road Ford SUV knows how to strike a balance between its fun side and its serious side.
The same reviewers note that Wranglers have a firm ride that is sometimes uncomfortable. More like a fish out of water, the Wrangler is awkward when it’s on the road.
Plus the Bronco has remarkable engine choices that go above and beyond the Wrangler’s choices. We especially like the turbo capable of 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. It can certainly challenge anything the Wrangler can do with its 285-horsepower engine with 260 lb-ft of torque.

Safety
The Ford Bronco has more standard safety features than the Jeep Wrangler. Here are Ford standards that you don’t get from Jeep:
- Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
-
Hill Descent Control (with manual transmission)
-
Post-Collision Braking (Ford exclusive feature)
Auto High-Beam Headlamps
Winner: Bronco
Conclusion
With more space and more features, the 2024 Ford Bronco earns its price tag again and again. The fact that it is an incredible off-roader should seal the deal. Schedule a test drive.
