Why has the Ford F-150 been the best-selling pickup truck in the U.S. since 1977?
The new F-150 sets the bar that all other full-size light-duty pickup trucks try to reach. It allows you to haul whatever you need on the job or for fun with its best-in-class payload and tow ratings. Yet the rugged, yet handsome exterior makes a promise that the equally handsome and somewhat more refined interior keeps. With three cabin sizes, three bed sizes, and many trim levels, the new Ford F150 lineup seems to have all lifestyles and business needs covered. Still, it has to measure up to your needs. Performance
With the best truck engines available anywhere, the Ford F-150 lineup offers the highest performance of any full-size pickup truck. Making green technology easier to get, there are more models offered with the PowerBoost Hybrid. This remarkable powertrain delivers V8-like output. F-150 Hybrid drivers command 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. There's a new standard engine, giving shoppers more power from the get-go This one is a twin-turbo Ecoboost engine with a 325-horsepower output. Even better, the torque rate is 400 lb-ft. Beyond that, you've still got four more ways to power up the F-150 to meet your needs for payload, towing or both. Furthermore, there are now more off-road models than ever before. You can go for FX or Tremor package on many of your favorite times. The new F-150 Raptor now has a rival in its own family. Raptor R models provide an even greater blend of excitement and luxury.
Capability
A work truck needs to be up to any challenge you throw at it. For the new model year, Ford added a Class IV trailer hitch to all models in anticipation of the owner's towing needs. There are different tow ratings by truck size and engine choice, but the F-150 remains the class leader. Top tow ratings are a maximum 13,500 pounds.
The truck bed has been enhanced with more standard and available features. Bumper steps actually come in two sizes. The tailgate offers a power-up, power-down function. Or, you can choose the ProAccess Tailgate which actually splits to allow it to be accessed even when a trailer is hitched to the bumper. This is also the only truck lineup to be offering integrated loading ramps.
Since these trucks offer substantial payload ratings, Ford is offering technology that can track the weight of what's loaded. This can signal when to stop, helping to keep the bed at the right payload weight limit.
Pro Power Onboard is a Ford system that can be used to power tools or appliances. It's a good fit for work and for play.
Interior
