2019 Ford Ranger Chandler, AZIf you’ve been admiring the power of the Ford Ranger for a while, it’s time to make the plunge. The 2019 Ranger is a tough vehicle with the power you need to scale steep grades, navigate rough terrain, and tow heavy loads. Read on to learn more about how you can enjoy the power of the all-new 2019 Ford Ranger.

Engine

Entering its fourth generation, the new Ranger gets one engine, a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder that creates 279 horsepower and 310-pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The husky engine gives you lots of power for quick acceleration or pulling a heavy load.

Power Boosts

The midsize Ranger pickup truck comes in three trim levels: XL, XLT, and Lariat. You can also choose between two cabs. The Supercab extended cab comes with a 6-foot bed, and the crew cab has a 5-foot bed.

For a boost in power, two compelling option packages are available on all three trims. The Off-Road package adds upgraded shock absorbers and suspension tuning, off-road tires, underbody skid plates, front tow hooks, a terrain management system, and Trail Control, a low-speed crawl control system for tackling off-road terrain. The Trailer Tow package includes a four-pin/seven-pin wiring harness and a Class IV trailer hitch.

Towing

The 2019 Ford Ranger’s maximum towing capacity is excellent at 7,500 pounds if you have the SuperCab with the available Trailer Tow package. The 2019 ranger also offers a best-in-class maximum payload of 1,860 pounds. If you need to tow equipment, a trailer, an RV, or other heavy loads, you want to be certain your vehicle has the power to do so. With the new Ranger, you can rest assured that you’ll get your load to your destination without issues.

Acceleration

You’ll get plenty of punch with the accelerator, especially if you drive in Sport Mode. The four-wheel drive Ranger went from zero to 60 in just 6.8 seconds in testing by Edmunds. Acceleration like that will make you feel like you own the road.

Navigating Terrain

The Ranger’s Terrain Management System gives you options for any terrain, with modes including normal, sand, mud, ruts, grass, gravel, and snow. You can also get the available Trail Control for even nimbler navigation of rough terrain. Whether you’re battling ice or crossing rocks, you’ll be well-equipped to embark on your best adventure yet.

The 2019 Ford Ranger is equipped with the power you need to master the road, whether you’re cruising down the interstate, going on an off-road adventure, or hauling a heavy trailer. The new Ranger also has the tech features you need to connect with others, find your way, and use voice activation to keep your hands on the steering wheel for safety.
